This project was given to our sustainable lighting design class by Steve Pederson of ME Engineers. The project was to take an object-any object--and use light to elevate its interest. Music was used in conjunction with the lighting to create emotion.

The performance was done in time, during a live performance (video above) using a DMX control board along side large theater lighting from ETC. We also utilized a small-scale DMX controller which is controlled though a smartphone and allowed for the lighting under the bottle.

Mark and I decided to work with an instrumental piece because it had no predisposition to emotion, and because of that we could put our own emotions into it.

The best experience for this is to watch without knowledge of our intentions and create an emotional story for yourself. Then, re watch and see our intention and compare. If you do this, please let me know. I'd love to hear your initial thoughts.

The video above has instructions and information about our final result.
